Hiring a bouncy castle in Bath involves a few more practical decisions than simply choosing a design. What happens if my Bath venue will not let you in until shortly before the party?
We need enough access time to unload and install the equipment safely before it is used. Most bouncy castle installations take approximately 30 to 45 minutes, although access and the inflatable selected can affect this.
If another event overruns or venue staff delay entry, we cannot guarantee that lost setup time can be added to the end of your hire. When reserving a Bath hall, allowing a reasonable period before the party starts is therefore important.
Can you install a bouncy castle on artificial grass?
Not for an outdoor booking. Our outdoor inflatables are installed on suitable natural grass so they can be anchored correctly.
Outdoor setup is not available on concrete, tarmac, gravel, loose stone or unsuitable artificial surfaces. If you have any doubt about your garden surface, speak to us before booking rather than assuming it will be suitable.
Could I hire a bouncy castle inside a Bath function room?
Yes, provided the venue has suitable flooring, sufficient floor dimensions and enough ceiling clearance for the chosen inflatable.
Do not rely only on the room's advertised ceiling height. Beams, lighting rigs, suspended decorations and other fittings can reduce the usable height considerably.

Why might you ask me for identification before a hire?
Our Terms & Conditions allow us to request identification in some circumstances before completing a booking. Suitable ID can include a driving licence or passport together with proof of address.
Where identification has been requested and cannot be provided, we reserve the right not to proceed with the hire.
Who is allowed to collect the inflatable after my Bath event?
Only authorised members of the Jump N Joy Castles team will collect our equipment.
If somebody unexpectedly arrives claiming to collect an inflatable on our behalf and you have not received confirmation from us, do not hand the equipment over. Contact us directly first.
The hirer remains responsible for equipment handed to an unauthorised person.
Can children use face paint on a hired bouncy castle?
No. Face paint, glitter, silly string and confetti should all be kept away from our inflatables.
Food, drinks and chewing gum are also prohibited on the equipment. These substances can stain or damage inflatable material and, where equipment is returned excessively dirty, a £50 cleaning charge may apply.
What are children expected to remove before bouncing?
Shoes, glasses, jewellery, badges and sharp objects should be removed before anyone enters the inflatable.
Children should use the proper entrance and exit, should not bounce on the front step and must not climb or sit on inflatable walls or roofs. Somersaults, wrestling and rough play are also prohibited.
Can I have separate entertainment for toddlers at a Bath birthday party?
Yes. Soft Play can provide a dedicated activity for babies and toddlers while older children enjoy the bouncy castle.
Soft play is for indoor use only, so this combination is particularly useful in halls where you can create separate zones for different ages.

What happens if a child becomes unwell while using the inflatable?
Anyone who feels unwell should stop using the equipment immediately.
Our hire conditions also state that anyone with neck, back, heart or joint problems, high blood pressure or another medical condition that could be affected by vigorous activity should not use the inflatable.
Can the blower be switched off during the party?
No. The blower needs to remain connected while the inflatable is in use. Customers should not move or disconnect blowers, generators or other electrical equipment supplied as part of the hire.
Children should also be kept away from the blower and electrical equipment throughout the event.
What if I book an outdoor Bath party and strong winds are forecast?
Weather decisions are based on safe operation rather than whether a little rain is inconvenient. If high winds or other conditions make outdoor use unsafe, we reserve the right to cancel the hire.
Depending on the circumstances and availability, we may be able to offer an alternative inflatable, move the booking indoors or rearrange the date. If we cancel because the weather makes the outdoor hire unsafe and no suitable alternative can proceed, the deposit is refunded.
Do rain covers mean a bouncy castle can stay outside in any weather?
No. Some inflatables have rain covers that can provide useful protection during light showers, but a cover does not make an inflatable suitable for unsafe weather.
Wind conditions and overall safety still determine whether an outdoor setup can operate.
Can I book a larger bouncy castle for a busy Bath event?
Yes, where the site and age group are suitable. Our 15x12ft Bouncy Castles provide more inflatable space than the smaller models, and we also have other larger and slide-based options for events needing something different.
For busy events, supervision and managing users by similar age and size become particularly important. Overcrowding should never be allowed simply because lots of children want a turn.
What parking arrangements do you need in Bath?
A space suitable for a transit-sized van should be available as close to the setup location as reasonably possible. Bath venues with restricted parking, paid parking or difficult loading arrangements should be discussed before the event.
Where parking charges apply, these remain the responsibility of the hirer under our hire terms.
What if there are steps between the road and my garden or venue?
Please tell us beforehand. Most inflatables need approximately 2.6ft of access width, with larger equipment sometimes needing more, but width is only one consideration.
Steps, narrow pathways, tight corners and long carries from the vehicle can all affect whether a particular inflatable can realistically be delivered.
Are your bouncy castles insured and inspected?
Jump N Joy Castles carries £5 million Public Liability Insurance. Relevant inflatables are PIPA tested, regularly inspected and checked before hire.
Equipment is also cleaned between bookings before being delivered to the next customer.
Do you provide bouncy castle hire outside Bath?
Yes. Our regular delivery service also covers locations including Keynsham, Bristol, Chippenham, Yate, Bradley Stoke, Thornbury and South Gloucestershire.

What actually confirms my Bath booking?
A booking is secured once it has been completed through the website and the required £20 deposit has been received. We cannot reserve equipment or dates without the deposit.
The remaining balance is normally payable on delivery before setup begins.
If you need to cancel, cancellations made at least 14 days before the hire date generally receive a refund of the booking deposit. Cancellations within 14 days are normally non-refundable, although we will try to move the booking where availability allows.
